Here at Our Lady’s we offer a number of enriching activities to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world whilst building upon their developing skills. All activities are session dependent and included in our monthly fees.
Physical Education:
Developed by our Director of Sport, PE sessions are available for all children across the Nursery from 3 months upwards. Sessions are designed to support their physical development in a fun and engaging way via soft play, obstacle courses, balance exercises and team work, for example, whilst promoting a healthy and active way to learn.
Music:
Music lessons provided by our Director of Music, again across all age groups, are designed to encourage creativity, expression and confidence. Children are submerged into the world of music which supports their language development, coordination, listening skills and develops a joy of music and expressive arts.
Dance:
Dance sessions by an external dance teacher, offers a chance for children to have fun moving their bodies and being active whilst developing balance and rhythm and exploring various ways of moving to music. Children’s imagination and creativity are harnessed through music, simple routines and movement which they also enjoy sharing with families at home.
Forest School:
From 2 years, children have the opportunity to learn and explore in a natural environment with Forest School sessions. Through activities such as den building, nature hunts and creative play using natural materials, children develop confidence, resilience and a love for the outside world. Led by qualified staff, children are encouraged to problem solve and work as part of a team in a safe and stimulating space to manage risks and discover nature through hands-on experiences.
Swimming:
Within the academic year before children start school, children have the opportunity to attend off-site swimming sessions providing a fun and supportive introduction to water confidence and basic swimming skills. Guided by qualified swim teachers and supported by our team, swimming helps children to develop strength, balance and overall physical wellbeing whilst teaching children a valuable life skill. Sessions are designed to be enjoyable and encouraging to build water confidence at their own pace.
